Combating isolation and maintaining cognitive abilities are major challenges in Luxembourg. That is why companionship, caregiving, and stimulation activities (social connection) are very often covered under the Long-Term Care Insurance program.
Your Verbandskëscht representative is available to help you assess your eligibility, put together your application, and coordinate the scheduling of these support sessions.

Does the counselor choose the activities for me?
Not at all! Through our biographical assessment, we talk with you to understand your background, your past interests, and what you’re looking for right now. The activities (games, reading, music, conversations) are completely personalized.
Is this companion service covered by Long-Term Care Insurance?
Yes, cognitive stimulation and maintaining social connections (in-home care) are an integral part of the support provided by Long-Term Care Insurance. Your case manager will help you arrange these care hours.
Will I see a different person each time I visit?
